We are in a spiritual war. You can either stand there and be beaten up or you can put on the full armor of God and fight back. The Bible has instructions and principles to train us but most people are ignorant of them. God has called Christians to be warriors and spiritual gatekeepers not benchwarmers and bystanders. Gatekeepers are warriors who guard the entrances and exits to the temple. If you remain passive, nothing changes and you continue to fall and fail and God's blessings seem to pour out on everyone else but you. If you seem to have problems that never go away and issues that never get resolved, you may have opened a gate that gives permission to the enemy of your soul to harass you without knowing it. The Bible studies in this website will give Biblical principles to show you how to shut those gates.
In the Bible we are referred to as "temples" of the Holy Spirit. In several ways the Bible says that an undisciplined person is like an "un-walled city," or a place without defense. In laying out these ideas, God gives us a picture of ourselves. From this we can figure out that we are to be careful what and whom we let in, and that we are to guard the gates. At the very beginning of creation, God placed Adam and Eve in a garden that had a hedge around it with only one opening. God told Adam to "dress and keep" the garden. The word "keep" is a military term, meaning to keep watch, to guard and protect. When Adam failed to do so, God placed a mighty angel with a flashing sword at the opening.
God never changes. If the first man failed because he neglected the gate, then we need to pay attention and guard the gates.
By checking out the articles in this website under Bible Studies, you can learn what the Bible says and how you may have opened gates to the enemy of your soul. By putting the principles into practice you will learn how to close the gates to hell and how to maintain your watch. And you will learn how to open gates to God's blessings.
"Bloody men hate him that is upright,
but the just have care of his soul."
